Another Photomatix Pro test. Swansea has recently acquired some fairground attractions so I thought I'd try a shot of the ferris wheel, since it seems to be the most colourful thing in Swansea at the moment. Although it looks okay in this small image, the larger image isn't so impressive. Closer inspection shows that the lights haven't blended very well (bright lights against a dark background are a tricky subject) and there's nasty grain and posterisation in the dark trees to the right (a wider range of exposures is obviously needed). There's also a noticeable dark halo around the ferris wheel which I found hard to get rid of. Perhaps it would have been better if photographed a bit earlier, before it got so dark.
