Sky
Reflection
For
some reason Caswell Bay always holds a lot of water in the sand during
the winter, which makes it a great spot for sky reflections. No adjustments
made to this shot. |
Rock
and cloud
A
telephoto shot of the same scene. The 140mm equivalent lens is very
useful for such shots. No adjustments, this is exactly how it came
out of the camera. |
Cave
A
small cave on the west side of the bay. The dark stuff on the rocks
is not oil, but a black lichen. |
Scattered
Rocks
Seaweed
covered rocks in a small stream on the west side. Here's an 1152x864
wallpaper version.

Sunlight
reflecting off the gentle waves. |
Dark
Clouds
Dark,
foreboding clouds with a silver lining. |
Into
the Light
A
direct shot into the bright sun, an excuse to use the inbuilt 3 stop
neutral density filter. I used spot metering off the sun for the exposure,
which was 1/1600 at f8.0, almost as dark as the camera can go (1/2000). |

Limestone
Cliff
Warm
sunlight and dark shadow. Good contrast range, hardly any adjustment. |
Caswell
Bay Shops
The
tourist face of Caswell Bay, thankfully closed during the winter.
Nice warm light, hardly any adjustment. |
Winter
Canoeists
The
world is full of crazy people. Here are two of them. |
Man
and Dog
This
was an experiment with a fast film speed. 1/640 at f3.0 at ISO 400.
Notice the "digital grain". This is a 1.4:1 crop from the
original. |

Last
rays of golden sun over the sea. |
Canoeist
Sunset
A wide
angle shot (35mm equivalent) showing the sun's rays radiating from
the clouds, and a last twinkle from the sun itself. |
Red-tinged
Clouds
Like
the dying embers of a fire, the orange clouds darken and fade. |
Swansea
Bay Twilight
A
quickly grabbed shot on the way home, showing the twilight wedge and
an almost full moon above a murky, moody South Wales. |
